Starting October 1, 2025, the city of Heidelberg will introduce an accommodation tax ("City Tax").

The City Tax applies to both private and business stays. Children and adolescents up to the age of 16 are exempt. For continuous stays in the same establishment, it is charged for a maximum of 5 nights.

We are required to pay this City Tax of €3.50 per person per night to the city of Heidelberg.

This amount is not included in our accommodation price, but is a mandatory municipal levy that is charged in addition to the room rate.

The accommodation tax does not result in higher revenue for us, as we pass the amount on directly to the city of Heidelberg without any surcharge.

The City Tax must be paid on site at check-in.
